The Joseph Saveri Law Firm, LLP has been honored by the American Antitrust Institute for its pivotal role in Le v. Zuffa, LLC, a landmark case challenging the UFC’s anticompetitive practices. The award recognizes the firm’s leadership in advancing fair competition and protecting workers through private antitrust enforcement.

The Joseph Saveri Law Firm, LLP has been selected by the American Antitrust Institute (AAI) as an Honoree for Outstanding Antitrust Litigation Achievement in Private Law Practice for its work in Le v. Zuffa, LLC. This recognition is one of the most prestigious awards in the field of antitrust enforcement. It underscores the firm’s ongoing commitment to advancing fair competition and protecting workers and consumers through private enforcement.

The Le v. Zuffa case—filed on behalf of mixed martial arts (MMA) fighters—challenged the UFC’s anticompetitive conduct in the professional sports industry. Led by Joseph Saveri, the firm played a key role as co-lead counsel in the litigation, which sought to restore fair market conditions and ensure that UFC athletes are compensated equitably for their talent and contributions.

AAI’s Antitrust Enforcement Awards honor outstanding achievements that contribute to the development of antitrust law and reflect the highest standards of professional excellence. This year’s Honorees include Berger Montague, Cohen Milstein Sellers & Toll PLLC, and the Joseph Saveri Law Firm, recognized jointly for their collaborative success in this landmark case. Key members of the firm’s case team included Joseph Saveri, Kevin Rayhill, Christopher Young, Itak Moradi,  and Aaron Cera

Awardees will be formally recognized at the AAI Awards Night on November 6, 2025, during the organization’s 19th Annual Private Antitrust Enforcement Conference in Washington, D.C.

“We are deeply honored by this recognition from the American Antitrust Institute,” said Joseph Saveri, founder and managing partner of the firm. “Le v. Zuffa reflects the very heart of our mission—standing up to powerful corporations, ensuring fair competition, and protecting those whose livelihoods depend on it. We’re proud to have worked alongside an exceptional team of firms and attorneys who share that same commitment.”

The American Antitrust Institute (AAI) is an independent nonprofit organization devoted to advancing competition as a cornerstone of a healthy economy. Through research, education, and advocacy, AAI works to ensure that markets remain open, innovative, and fair for consumers and businesses alike. The Institute serves as a leading voice in shaping antitrust policy and enforcement in the United States, providing expert analysis to policymakers, regulators, and courts.

Each year, AAI honors exceptional contributions to antitrust enforcement and scholarship through its prestigious awards program—recognizing legal teams, economists, and public servants whose work strengthens competition, deters monopolistic behavior, and delivers real benefits to the public.
