Amara Getzell

  • Biography

For the past two decades, Amara Getzell has been a top-notch legal assistant. At the Joseph Saveri Law Firm, LLP, she is now shifting her focus to paralegal work, guided by her extensive experience in coordinating and preparing complex court filings and deposition-related materials. She enjoys managing complex case projects and calendars, using her attention to detail and proofreader’s eye to help her legal teams effectively organize the evidence and present it to the courts.

Prior to joining the firm, Amara was a senior litigation assistant for a well-regarded national firm. While there, she supported four partners and one senior associate with heavy calendar management, legal document preparation, court filings, document recordation, elaborate travel arrangements, extensive expense reports, and confidential client communications. She also supported the firm’s chairman of the board in litigative and administrative capacities, including planning of on-site and off-site board meetings, preparation of minutes, and post-meeting agenda follow-up.

Prior to this position, Amara was a legal administrator and legal assistant at two other Bay Area-based law firms, where she ensured the firms’ legal department and marketing success via heavy calendar management, legal document preparation, and tracking of extensive, ongoing deadlines.

Amara is active in community service and entrepreneurship. In recent years, she has been a volunteer poll worker and poll site inspector for the San Francisco Department of Elections. She volunteers for the Sweet Farm Animal Sanctuary and was a "Taste of the Nation San Francisco" fundraising event Restaurant Committee Co-Chair for the Share Our Strength Organization.
