Joseph Saveri Selected by California Daily Journal as 2025 “Top 100 Lawyer in California”

(Daily Journal) Joseph Saveri, founder of the Joseph Saveri Law Firm, LLP, has been named by the California Daily Journal as one of the “Top 100 Lawyers in California” for 2025. A profile of Joe appeared in the September 17, 2025, special issue of the Daily Journal. This marks the eighth time he has earned this honor, reflecting his enduring impact on antitrust and complex litigation.

With 35 years of civil litigation experience, Joe is regarded as one of the nation’s premier plaintiffs’ attorneys. Since founding his firm in 2012, he has grown it into a 26-attorney practice that has achieved more than $5 billion in settlements and successful resolutions for clients. Many of his cases are considered landmark matters in antitrust, intellectual property, and class action litigation.

The Daily Journal highlighted Joe’s recent work on two high-profile cases:

  • Capacitors Antitrust Litigation: As sole lead counsel for a class of direct purchasers, his firm secured $604.55 million in settlements - exceeding calculated single damages of $427 million, a rarity in antitrust law. The case was named 2025 “Impact Case of the Year” by Benchmark Litigation.

  • UFC Antitrust Litigation (Cung Le v. Zuffa LLC): Representing professional mixed martial artists, his firm helped achieve final approval of a $375 million settlement in 2025, providing average payouts of $250,000 per fighter.

In addition to these successes, Joe and his team are leading several cutting-edge cases involving intellectual property rights and the unauthorized use of creative works in generative artificial intelligence products. These cases are on behalf of classes of artists, coders, and authors who allege their creative work is being illegally appropriated by defendants’ artificial intelligence and machine learning technology without consent, credit, compensation, or transparency.

This recognition continues a long tradition of honors for both Joe and his firm. Previous Daily Journal distinctions include “Top Boutiques,” “California Lawyer Attorneys of the Year (CLAY),” “Top Plaintiff Lawyers,” “Top Antitrust Lawyers,” “Top Artificial Intelligence Lawyers,” “Top Intellectual Property Lawyers,” and “Top Commercial Litigators.”

As the Daily Journal noted, Joe’s practice reflects both his pedigree - his father and uncle were pioneering antitrust lawyers - and his firm’s reputation for pursuing complex, high-stakes cases to the fullest. “We have the resources to take these cases the distance,” Joe said. “It takes some intellectual experience and a healthy dose of stubbornness.”
